obtained infor\u00adma\u00adtion about vio\u00adla\u00adtions in con\u00adnec\u00adtion with their pro\u00adfes\u00adsional activ\u00adi\u00adties or in advance of a pro\u00adfes\u00adsional activ\u00adity and who report or dis\u00adclose this infor\u00adma\u00adtion to the report\u00ading offices pro\u00advided for in this Act (whistle\u00adblow\u00aders).<\/li><li>In addi\u00adtion, per\u00adsons who are the sub\u00adject of a report or dis\u00adclo\u00adsure and other per\u00adsons affected by a report or dis\u00adclo\u00adsure are protected.<\/li><li>Def\u00adi\u00adn\u00adi\u00adtion<ol><li>Vio\u00adla\u00adtions are actions or omis\u00adsions in the con\u00adtext of a pro\u00adfes\u00adsional, entre\u00adpre\u00adneur\u00adial or offi\u00adcial activ\u00adity that are unlawful.<\/li><li>Infor\u00adma\u00adtion about vio\u00adla\u00adtions is rea\u00adson\u00adable sus\u00adpi\u00adcion or knowl\u00adedge of actual or poten\u00adtial vio\u00adla\u00adtions that have been or are very likely to be com\u00admit\u00adted at the employer where the report\u00ading per\u00adson works or has worked, or at another entity with which the report\u00ading per\u00adson is or has been in con\u00adtact due to his or her pro\u00adfes\u00adsional activ\u00adity, as well as attempts to con\u00adceal such violations.<\/li><li>Reports are com\u00admu\u00adni\u00adca\u00adtions of infor\u00adma\u00adtion about vio\u00adla\u00adtions to inter\u00adnal or exter\u00adnal report\u00ading offices or exter\u00adnal report\u00ading offices, whereby the inter\u00adnal report\u00ading office should be given pref\u00ader\u00adence.<br> <\/li><\/ol><\/li><\/ol><h3>External reporting offices<\/h3><p>It is also pos\u00adsi\u00adble to con\u00adtact an exter\u00adnal report\u00ading office directly. A cen\u00adtral exter\u00adnal report\u00ading office has been set up at the Fed\u00aderal Office of Jus\u00adtice (BfJ). There are also exist\u00ading report\u00ading sys\u00adtems with spe\u00adcial respon\u00adsi\u00adbil\u00adi\u00adties at the Fed\u00aderal Finan\u00adcial Super\u00advi\u00adsory Author\u00adity (for vio\u00adla\u00adtions of super\u00advi\u00adsory reg\u00adu\u00adla\u00adtions, com\u00adpli\u00adance with which is mon\u00adi\u00adtored by BaFin) and at the Fed\u00aderal Car\u00adtel Office (for spe\u00adcific indi\u00adca\u00adtions of antitrust vio\u00adla\u00adtions).
