An employee app called Polario.app<\/a> will now bridge the gap to com\u00admu\u00adni\u00adca\u00adtion within the company.<\/em><\/p>\n

We talk in an inter\u00adview with J\u00fcr\u00adgen Mayer, CEO of plazz AG, and Ste\u00adfan Heinz, who as Chief Prod\u00aduct Offi\u00adcer is in charge of \u201cDesign and Conception\u201d.<\/em><\/p>\n

Mr. Mayer, how did you come to plazz AG?<\/strong><\/h4>\n

J\u00fcr\u00adgen Mayer:<\/strong> I joined the com\u00adpany in 2010 and reor\u00adga\u00adnized the com\u00adpany and refo\u00adcused it on the topic of \u201capps\u201d. The size of Erfurt is ideal and we have sev\u00aderal uni\u00adver\u00adsi\u00adties right on our doorstep, which makes the Thuringian state cap\u00adi\u00adtal very attrac\u00adtive as a loca\u00adtion, espe\u00adcially since it was already known at the time that the new ICE line would be launched at some point.<\/p>\n

Cur\u00adrently, our Erfurt team com\u00adprises almost 50 per\u00adma\u00adnent employ\u00adees. We still have a loca\u00adtion in Munich, but our head\u00adquar\u00adters are in Erfurt\u2019s Bahn\u00adhof\u00ads\u00adtrasse. Since 2012, we have been able to suc\u00adcess\u00adfully surf along on sev\u00aderal waves \u2014 on the one hand, the dig\u00adi\u00adtal trans\u00adfor\u00adma\u00adtion of com\u00adpa\u00adnies, but in the wake of the Corona pan\u00addemic, we also reacted and expanded our solu\u00adtion to include vir\u00adtual and hybrid events with video stream\u00ading and video con\u00adfer\u00adenc\u00ading, and now we are ben\u00ade\u00adfit\u00ading from remote work.<\/p>\n

How did it start?<\/strong><\/h4>\n

J\u00fcr\u00adgen Mayer:<\/strong> We decided to develop an event app based on a no-code sys\u00adtem. This means that our cus\u00adtomers can admin\u00adis\u00adter every\u00adthing them\u00adselves. We are the extended work\u00adbench and are avail\u00adable with our experts. This was still uncharted ter\u00adri\u00adtory at the time. Today, the term \u201cno code\u201d is in vogue, but we were one of the first providers in Ger\u00admany with a con\u00adcrete offer.<\/p>\n

Ste\u00adfan Heinz:<\/strong> At that time, we had received an increas\u00ading num\u00adber of inquiries from com\u00adpa\u00adnies that needed an app for their event \u2014 prefer\u00adably within two weeks. But app devel\u00adop\u00adment takes a long time and is, above all, expen\u00adsive. At the time, we were build\u00ading an app for the Weimar Eco\u00adnomic Forum. This gave rise to the idea of devel\u00adop\u00ading a prod\u00aduct from the prod\u00aduct, which we can reuse. This is how the soft\u00adware ser\u00advice approach came about, which we have con\u00adtin\u00adued to work on.<\/p>\n

What was your first experience with the app?<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Ste\u00adfan Heinz:<\/strong> Dig\u00adi\u00adti\u00adza\u00adtion was the head\u00adline above every\u00adthing at that time. But you have to imag\u00adine that 12 years ago, cus\u00adtomers did\u00adn\u2019t even have the expe\u00adri\u00adence with such apps. This means that for the cus\u00adtomer we were work\u00ading for, this was new ter\u00adri\u00adtory. We picked up our cus\u00adtomers by pro\u00advid\u00ading advice and ser\u00advice, but were also on site at the events. For exam\u00adple, we checked whether the con\u00adnec\u00adtion of the online vot\u00ading on the cell phone to the screen tech\u00adnol\u00adogy worked so that the charts were dis\u00adplayed on stage. That was an exper\u00adi\u00admen\u00adtal time.<\/p>\n

J\u00fcr\u00adgen Mayer:<\/strong> No com\u00adpar\u00adi\u00adson to today! Nowa\u00addays, the cus\u00adtomer has already gained expe\u00adri\u00adence and Corona, of course, was also an accel\u00ader\u00ada\u00adtor of this development.<\/p>\n

What has the Corona pandemic done to you?<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Ste\u00adfan Heinz:<\/strong> From a prod\u00aduct devel\u00adop\u00adment per\u00adspec\u00adtive, the pan\u00addemic was an oppor\u00adtu\u00adnity. Pre\u00advi\u00adously, an event app was a dig\u00adi\u00adtal extra, so to speak. How\u00adever, every\u00adthing that was to take place dur\u00ading the Corona period had to be done dig\u00adi\u00adtally. So our app went from being a medium to the cen\u00adtral plat\u00adform of an event. The focus was sud\u00addenly set dif\u00adfer\u00adently, which was a great mar\u00adket oppor\u00adtu\u00adnity for us.<\/p>\n

J\u00fcr\u00adgen Mayer:<\/strong> First and fore\u00admost, we ben\u00ade\u00adfited from the Corona pan\u00addemic, although down\u00adstream we are cur\u00adrently also feel\u00ading the con\u00adse\u00adquences of the pan\u00addemic. Employ\u00adees have become accus\u00adtomed to work\u00ading remotely. We can no longer get col\u00adleagues into the office five days in a row. That\u2019s not a prob\u00adlem either, but it does cre\u00adate new chal\u00adlenges in terms of how skilled work\u00aders nev\u00ader\u00adthe\u00adless iden\u00adtify with a com\u00adpany. The high demand for IT work\u00aders is also putting a strain on us in terms of recruit\u00ading new employees.<\/p>\n

You have developed a solution for this as well. What can the new product do?<\/strong><\/h4>\n

J\u00fcr\u00adgen Mayer:<\/strong> Com\u00adpa\u00adnies need to pro\u00advide tools that enable bet\u00adter employee com\u00admu\u00adni\u00adca\u00adtion. So we have also taken up this issue and offer an app for employ\u00adees. We have com\u00adpa\u00adnies in our port\u00adfo\u00adlio that have 3,500 employ\u00adees who receive daily push mes\u00adsages with the lat\u00adest news from the site using our solu\u00adtion. How\u00adever, this is not only inter\u00adest\u00ading for col\u00adleagues who work in the home office, but also for employ\u00adees who do not work in front of the com\u00adputer in the office. You can also reach these peo\u00adple in pro\u00adduc\u00adtion and the like bet\u00adter with such apps.<\/p>\n

Ste\u00adfan Heinz:<\/strong> The advan\u00adtage of our no-code solu\u00adtion is that we don\u2019t have to arrange with an IT depart\u00adment to cre\u00adate com\u00adpli\u00adcated inter\u00adfaces. Our prod\u00aduct is easy to con\u00adnect and adapt within two hours. The future admins in the com\u00adpany then receive 60 min\u00adutes of train\u00ading and can then oper\u00adate the app com\u00adpletely independently.<\/p>\n

How could the bm|t support this?<\/strong><\/h4>\n

J\u00fcr\u00adgen Mayer:<\/strong> As a share\u00adholder, bm|t is close to us through its seat on our super\u00advi\u00adsory board.
