bm|t<\/a> and TGFS Tech\u00adnolo\u00adgiegr\u00fcn\u00adder\u00adfonds Sach\u00adsen have invested a seven-fig\u00adure sum in the Saxon-Thuringian med\u00adical robot\u00adics start-up TEDIRO Health\u00adcare Robot\u00adics GmbH<\/a> as part of an extended seed financ\u00ading round. Other investors in this financ\u00ading round include a busi\u00adness angel and the medium-sized robot\u00adics man\u00adu\u00adfac\u00adturer MetraL\u00adabs GmbH Neue Tech\u00adnolo\u00adgien und Sys\u00adteme, from which TEDIRO was spun off.<\/p>\n

The idea for the robot was once devel\u00adoped at the Wald\u00adkliniken Eisen\u00adberg \u2014 one of the largest orthopaedic clin\u00adics in Ger\u00admany \u2014 together with the Chair of Orthopaedics at Jena Uni\u00adver\u00adsity Hos\u00adpi\u00adtal, the Ilme\u00adnau Uni\u00adver\u00adsity of Tech\u00adnol\u00adogy and MetraL\u00adabs. The team behind TEDIRO, pri\u00admar\u00adily soft\u00adware devel\u00adop\u00aders and experts in arti\u00adfi\u00adcial intel\u00adli\u00adgence and robot\u00adics, have devel\u00adoped the demon\u00adstra\u00adtor into a med\u00adical prod\u00aduct in recent years and estab\u00adlished the nec\u00ades\u00adsary busi\u00adness processes. TEDIRO relies on MetraL\u00adabs\u2019 plat\u00adforms for the robot hard\u00adware and nav\u00adi\u00adga\u00adtion and focuses on the devel\u00adop\u00adment of med\u00adical appli\u00adca\u00adtions and sys\u00adtem inte\u00adgra\u00adtion. The robot is cur\u00adrently under\u00adgo\u00ading final test\u00ading by a med\u00adical tech\u00adnol\u00adogy test\u00ading lab\u00ado\u00adra\u00adtory. TEDIRO is doing pio\u00adneer\u00ading work to launch the first mobile robot for var\u00adi\u00adous ther\u00ada\u00adpeu\u00adtic appli\u00adca\u00adtions that  com\u00adplies with the new EU Med\u00adical Device Reg\u00adu\u00adla\u00adtion (MDR).<\/p>\n

\u201cOur THERY robot helps med\u00adical and ther\u00ada\u00adpeu\u00adtic staff to improve patient mobil\u00adity regard\u00adless of staff pres\u00adence,\u201d explains TEDIRO founder Anke May\u00adfarth. \u201cAs a phys\u00adio\u00adther\u00ada\u00adpist, I have always wished for a robot that could do repet\u00adi\u00adtive tasks for me. TEDIRO will use the funds from the financ\u00ading round to launch the robot as a med\u00adical prod\u00aduct on the mar\u00adket shortly and carry out tests in var\u00adi\u00adous clin\u00adics. In the future, the robot will cover a vari\u00adety of other appli\u00adca\u00adtions \u2014 from orthopaedics to neu\u00adrol\u00adogy and geri\u00adatrics. TEDIRO will also develop these appli\u00adca\u00adtions together with part\u00adners in order to posi\u00adtion the robot on the mar\u00adket as an inno\u00adv\u00ada\u00adtive ther\u00adapy platform.<\/p>\n
