To our great plea­sure, bm|t Investee Part­ner Pflege­platz­man­ager GmbH was awarded the dfg.Award 2020, known as the indus­try award of the Ger­man health­care sec­tor, in the cat­e­gory “Out­stand­ing dig­i­tal inno­va­tions and future projects in care”.
The dfg.Award is pre­sented annu­ally to inno­v­a­tive com­pa­nies in Ger­many and is known as the Oscar of the health­care sec­tor. The back­ground is that the prize is awarded by an inde­pen­dent jury of experts. Com­pa­nies and insti­tu­tions can­not apply for this award, but are nom­i­nated by experts and the read­ers of rel­e­vant trade journals.

Accord­ingly, the nom­i­na­tion list included many renowned and inno­v­a­tive play­ers in the health sec­tor, such as the uni­ver­sity hos­pi­tals from Schleswig-Hol­stein (Kiel/ Lübeck) and Dres­den. But in par­tic­u­lar also the health insur­ance com­pa­nies, such as AOK, Barmer, DAK and BKK, as well as other inno­v­a­tive companies.

“We have been able to win a num­ber of awards since 2018, for exam­ple the Thuringian Founder Award 2017, Thuringian Inno­va­tion Award 2018, Ger­man Dig­i­tal Award 2019. The dfg.Award 2020 rounds off this col­lec­tion and is some­thing very spe­cial as it is awarded by health­care pro­fes­sion­als,” says Alexan­der Bauch (Man­ag­ing Direc­tor Pflege­platz­man­ager GmbH). “It’s great that we have the oppor­tu­nity to really deliver added value to those in need of care — even if you only feel it indi­rectly. We now con­nect our 183 hos­pi­tal and reha­bil­i­ta­tion clinic cus­tomers with the major­ity of inpa­tient and out­pa­tient care providers in Ger­many. Thanks to an exten­sive data­base, the clin­ics can even con­tact 91% of all care stake­hold­ers,” adds Chris Schiller (Man­ag­ing Direc­tor Pflege­platz­man­ager GmbH).

The award is both praise and incen­tive. Cur­rently, the prod­uct is being fur­ther devel­oped together with one of the largest health insur­ance com­pa­nies in Ger­many, with the focus on, among other things, the dig­i­tal send­ing of cost appli­ca­tions (AHB appli­ca­tion) in the case of a patient’s need for reha­bil­i­ta­tion. The award cer­e­mony will take place in Berlin, where Schiller and Bauch are look­ing for­ward to fur­ther con­tacts with cost units in order to expand the port­fo­lio in the health insur­ance sector.
