With a double-digit-million investment in Enginsight, technology investor Verdane backs cybersecurity “Made in Germany” and growing demand for European security solutions
Verdane, the European specialist growth buyout investment firm, today announced that it has led a growth financing round in Enginsight GmbH (“Enginsight”), a German cybersecurity software platform for SMEs and public bodies. Existing investors UVC, HDI, and SIV are investing alongside Verdane. Following completion of the financing round, Verdane will become Enginsight’s largest shareholder.
Enginsight offers a comprehensive cybersecurity solution for organisations with complex and evolving IT environments. Founded in Jena, Germany, in 2017 by Mario Jandeck, CEO; Eric Range, CIO; and Max Tarantik, COO, the company develops its software entirely in-house in Germany. Enginsight helps businesses strengthen their digital sovereignty and resilience against evolving cyber threats.
The Enginsight platform combines security information and event management, security orchestration, automation and response and automated security operations in a unified cybersecurity solution. By integrating asset monitoring, vulnerability management, threat detection, compliance analysis and automated incident response, Enginsight provides the foundation for an increasingly automated Security Operations Center. Guided by the principles of “Making the Invisible Visible” and “Making the Insecure Secure”, the platform enables organisations to identify, understand and mitigate cyber risks efficiently.
Enginsight distributes its solutions through more than 250 active channel partners, including a growing number of Managed Service Providers. The company serves more than 750 customers and employs over 80 people. Its customer base is especially strong in the public sector and includes healthcare providers, SMEs and organisations in regulated industries. Demand for the platform is growing particularly strongly among municipalities, hospitals and universities.
Verdane has partnered with Enginsight to scale the partner channel, expand internationally and pursue a European buy-and-build strategy. The focus of the partnership is on activating and maturing Enginsight’s partner base, with an emphasis on Managed Service Providers, which manage IT services on behalf of their customers. Enginsight will also expand sales of its security information and event management and managed detection and response service to existing customers. Verdane will support Enginsight’s expansion beyond the DACH region through entry into selected European markets and targeted acquisitions with the aim of building a European cybersecurity platform.
The EU’s NIS2 cybersecurity directive and Germany’s security requirements for critical infrastructure operators are driving investment in cyber defense among SMEs and public-sector organisations. Many public-sector organisations prefer German-developed software that can be deployed on-premises and operated within their own infrastructure.
Enginsight will also continue to strengthen its technology platform through ongoing innovation. To support these ambitions, Verdane and its operating team Elevate will support Enginsight in scaling its organisation for the next phase of growth.
Mario Jandeck, CEO and Co-founder of Enginsight, said: “We founded Enginsight in 2017 to solve a challenge we experienced ourselves: the lack of a single solution providing comprehensive visibility and security across the entire IT landscape. Today, our sovereign, German-built cybersecurity platform helps organisations strengthen cyber resilience through powerful security capabilities combined with ease of use, without adding complexity.“
On the partnership with Verdane, Jandeck added: “As we enter our next phase of growth, we wanted a partner that understands both cybersecurity and the value of a channel-led go-to-market strategy. With Verdane’s experience in scaling European software companies and the expertise of its Elevate team, we will accelerate our growth, expand internationally and further strengthen our position as a leading cybersecurity platform.”
Dominik Schwarz, Partner at Verdane, added: “Enginsight exemplifies the kind of ambitious growth company Verdane backs: a strong team, a compelling product and significant potential to scale. Mario, Eric and Max have built a comprehensive, sovereign cybersecurity platform that customers and partners rate on par with established vendors. With its scalable partner network, technology developed in Germany and growing demand for cybersecurity solutions, Enginsight is well positioned for continued success. We look forward to supporting the team as Enginsight enters its next phase of growth.”
