Jena-based AI startup eva AG today announces the launch of the Closed Beta for its prod­uct warmwind. warmwind is the first AI oper­at­ing sys­tem from Ger­many, designed to act as an autonomous cloud employee. The soft­ware fully auto­mates repet­i­tive office work­flows through a visual inter­face, pro­vid­ing small and medium-sized enter­prises with low-thresh­old access to the pro­duc­tive use of arti­fi­cial intelligence.

After two years of devel­op­ment, warmwind is offi­cially exit­ing stealth mode. Along­side the Beta launch, the team is releas­ing a com­pre­hen­sive prod­uct video that pub­licly demon­strates for the first time how the AI oper­at­ing sys­tem works. The video high­lights how typ­i­cal office work­flows can be auto­mated by an autonomous cloud employee — intu­itively, entirely on Ger­man infra­struc­ture, and with­out the need for cus­tom API inte­gra­tions. warmwind empha­sizes sim­plic­ity, data pro­tec­tion, and full GDPR com­pli­ance. In early 2025, the com­pany moved into its office in Jena. The €1.5 mil­lion seed round was com­pleted with invest­ments from bm‑t Beteili­gungs­man­age­ment Thürin­gen, BRT Ven­tures, and a pri­vate investor. warmwind is devel­oped entirely in Ger­many and runs on domes­tic cloud infra­struc­ture. It is based on a pro­pri­etary AI model and a mod­u­lar archi­tec­ture that also allows for on-premise deploy­ment within cor­po­rate environments.

“We under­stood early on that trust, con­trol, and user-friend­li­ness are key to suc­cess­fully imple­ment­ing AI in busi­ness,” says Max­i­m­il­ian Schilling, warmwind’s tech­ni­cal co-founder. “That’s why we build and own the entire tech­nol­ogy stack — from the model to the inter­face. We don’t rely on third-party APIs. This makes our solu­tion both GDPR-com­pli­ant and truly independent.”

The warmwind team cur­rently includes around ten employ­ees and is actively hir­ing in the fields of soft­ware engi­neer­ing and machine learn­ing.
